A Wizard needs a Wand

So of course for a Harry Potter event there had to be wands. I handmade 4 different wands for the event (the one I'm showing you now is a 5th one for my sister who requested I make one just for her) and here's how I did it so you can make your own.

First thing you're going to need is a chopstick and a glue gun (with glue sticks obviously)

Glue straight onto the chopstick. You don't need to be precise with this. The messier it is, the more it looks like wood. If you do want a smoother surface then wait until the glue is really quite hot, it goes on smoother.

Once the glue has dried paint over it in a colour of your choice. For this wand I painted it plain black as I had run out of brown paint. For the other wands I mixed down with different colours to give different and more interesting shades.

Once the paint was dry I went over parts of the handles with a gold sharpie. You don't have to do this but I thought it would give it a nice contrast.
